This week in my home management course, we're diving into the art of decluttering, focusing on those essential spaces where we gather and unwind – the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Because I've been talking about this all week, I decided to share with you 20 easy things you can get rid of from your living room.
Let's simplify and transform our spaces together!
1. CDs and CD Covers: If you don't use CDs anymore, it's time to say goodbye to them and their covers.
2. Electronics and Unused Wires: Get rid of old gadgets and the extra wires you don't need. It'll make your living room less messy.
3. Books You Won't Read Again: If you're not going to read a book again, why keep it? Share it with someone else or donate it.
4. Magazines: Old magazines can pile up. Recycle or give them away.
5. Clear Random Items from Tables: Take a moment to put away random stuff from your tables.
6. Remove Clutter-Attracting Furniture: If some furniture seems to attract clutter, get rid of it.
7. Unnecessary Decorative Pillows: Too many pillows on the sofa? Keep only the ones you really like and use.
8. Discard Random Receipts and Paperwork: Sort through your receipts and paperwork. Toss what you don't need.
9. Minimize Knickknacks: Simplify by keeping fewer small decorative items.
10. Assess Decorative Items: Check if your decorations have a purpose. If its just another thing you need to clean and maintain, it's time to let some go.
11. Remove Outdated Electronics: Old gadgets can take up space. If you don't use them, get rid of them.
12. Reduce Excess Throw Pillows and Blankets: Too many pillows and blankets? Keep your favorites and donate the rest.
13. Consider Parting with Unused Exercise Equipment: If you're not using exercise equipment, think about giving it a new home.
14. Declutter Extra Yoga Mats: Got more yoga mats than you need? Donate them.
15. Evaluate and Discard Unused Board Games: Keep the board games you enjoy and let go of the ones you don't use.
16. Eliminate Dead Houseplants and Dusty Fake Plants: If your plants are dead or dusty, get rid of them.
17. Assess the Need for Extra Furniture: Think about whether you really need that extra furniture. Keep what you truly use.
18. Evaluate Wall Art and Decorations: Check if your wall art still fits your style. Keep what you love and get rid of the rest.
19. Assess Furniture Without Built-In Storage: If your furniture doesn't help with storage, consider if you need it or if there's a better option.
20. Assess Cable and Cord Situation: Take a look at the various cables and cords in your living room. Identify those that belong to devices you no longer use or are unidentified.
Decluttering doesn't have to be hard. Keep what you love and use, and let go of the rest. Your living room will look and feel much better with a little simplicity.
