As we begin our Pesach prep series, I'm going to share with you my favorite time management books that have revolutionized not only how I approach my day-to-day tasks but also how I tackle the annual Pesach cleaning.
As a Time Management Coach, I've read lots of books, each offering its unique insights and strategies. In my course and also on various book reviews on my blog, I delve more deeply into these books and share more of my favorite lessons I've learned from each book.
But, I am going to keep it short, and just share some of my favorite time management books and strategies I learned from each book, that you can apply to your Pesach Prep:
"Eat the Frog" by Brian Tracy: This book emphasizes tackling the most challenging tasks first, aptly named after the concept of completing your most daunting task (eating a frog) early in the day, freeing you from procrastination and boosting productivity. As we start Pesach cleaning, "eating the frog" each day is a great way to tackle the most daunting cleaning tasks head-on.
"The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin: While not explicitly a time management book, Rubin mentions the power of the "One Minute Rule"- which I use, teach about and love- if it takes one minute or less to complete, then just do it now!
"Atomic Habits" by James Clear: Incorporating Clear's principle of "1 percent better every day" involves identifying small, manageable tasks that can be completed consistently. By tackling one area each day, such as decluttering a specific area or deep cleaning a single room, we can gradually make progress without feeling overwhelmed. Over time, these small improvements will accumulate, leading to a significantly cleaner and more organized home by the time Pesach arrives.
"Hands-Free Mama" by Rachel Macy Stafford: In a world filled with distractions, Stafford's beautifully written book reminds us of the importance of presence and connection. By embracing a "hands-free" approach to technology and multitasking, we can reclaim precious moments with our family and stay focused and grounded during the busy Pesach season.
"Make Your Bed" by Admiral William H. McRaven: Drawing upon his experiences as a Navy SEAL, Admiral McRaven delivers timeless lessons on discipline, responsibility, and resilience. By starting each day with a simple yet meaningful task, such as making your bed, we cultivate a sense of order and accomplishment that sets the tone for success in all that we do, including Pesach preparation.
While I typically advocate for minimalism, the impact these books will have on you, in my opinion, is very worth the physical space itll take up. Trust me; you'll keep coming back to them time and time again, not only during Pesach but throughout the year too!
