Hi Frum Minimalists!
Purim is coming! 🎭✨
And if you’re like most frum women, you’re probably juggling costumes, shalach manos, seudah prep, and trying to keep your home from looking like a post-Megillah disaster zone.
So let’s talk about how to make Purim feel lighter, calmer, and easier this year.
(Don’t forget to check out the Purim Catagory on my blog for more posts on Purim!)
1. Simplify Everything
(Because You Don’t Need to Impress Anyone!)
• Choose one theme and buy in bulk—less decision-making, less stress.
• The rule of Purim is two foods, one bracha each. That’s it! You don’t need elaborate packaging or gourmet foods.
• If it’s stressing you out, scale back. You are allowed to do the minimum and still fulfill the mitzvah beautifully.
2. Costumes: The 2-Minute Rule
• If your kids don’t know what they want to be, set a 2-minute timer and tell them to decide.
• If you don’t have time to make something elaborate, or go shopping, reuse something from past years or let them choose from what’s already at home.
3. Erev Purim Home Prep: The 10-Minute Tidy
• Let’s be honest: The house will be a mess on Purim. That’s fine.
But Erev Purim, set a timer for 10 minutes per area and just get rid of visual clutter—surfaces, entryways, and main areas.
• Focus on function, not perfection. As long as you can find the Megillah, your shoes, and your seudah supplies, you’re good to go!
4. Remember: More Is Not Always More
• The mitzvah of Purim is about simcha, not stress. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask yourself:
What can I let go of?
• The best Purim memories aren’t about fancy shalach manos or Viral themes. They’re about laughter, joy, and meaningful moments.
This year, I hope you let yourself do less—so you can enjoy more.
Wishing you a joyful, peaceful, and clutter-free Purim!
💕,Ellie
