TRAVEL TUESDAY- ENGLAND

P.s. Packing cubes, a must for minimalist travelers like me, effortlessly streamline suitcase chaos, keeping belongings compact and organized. Consider different colors for family members or each day of the week for ultimate simplicity! Here is a link to the ones we love- they are great quality and nice looking too!

Welcome back to Travel Tuesday, where I share fun ideas for your family to enjoy while traveling abroad. I've mentioned this before on the blog: how awesome it is to make use of stopovers. If you are traveling to the United States anyway, try taking advantage of stopovers to various countries, so you and your family get to experience another country. The best part is that you are even saving money on the tickets because it's much cheaper.

Today, we will explore England. There are so many gorgeous places in England, but I'm going to limit this article to just a few.

Now, let's head on a road trip in England.

While many of us associate England with London, the big bustling city, we are going to venture out to some awesome places. You'll be surprised to discover that England is a gorgeous country with beautiful countryside, cattle, free-range ponies, and more! Let's get started.

Before any trip, as frum Jews, we must make sure that we have kosher food. In England and Europe in general, it is not simple to find kosher food like it is in the United States and Israel. So, make sure to pack plenty of food, plus extras.

CENTRAL LONDON: Obviously, no trip to England is complete without touring London. Central London is a city packed with tons! Do not drive around in central London during the day because there is a tax for the day. I recommend driving through London at night and seeing landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the London Eye lit up, the famous bridges and more during the night. There's much less traffic, and it's really cool to see London at night. Of course, if you've never been to central London by day, you should take advantage of the Changing of the Guards. Find out when they do it, and make sure to be there with plenty of time to spare. Then, enjoy a picnic in Hyde Park. If you are driving in and around central London, be very mindful of the traffic and speed limits, since they change frequently, and the speed limit is usually quite low, which could be irritating.

WALES: Wales is actually its own country within the United Kingdom. Your family wIll really enjoy driving through Wales' rolling hills. As you go, you'll see lots of sheep and quaint and quiet roads. The views are outstanding! The roads are quiet, and you would likely be one of the only cars on the curvy stunning roads.

COTSWALD: It's full of storybook villages and lush countryside. Park your car and walk around some of the adorable villages. You can see the charming cottages that straight-up look like a fairytale! Bourton-on-the-Water, Castle Combe, Bibury, and more – it's like stepping into a literal picture book.

NEW FOREST: The New Forest is a wonderful and wild place. There are ponies and cows that are literally roaming freely. Take a drive through various villages, where the ponies will actually come to your car! Take advantage of the gorgeous drives - they are literally like out of a movie! Complete with ponies and cows and insanely stunning views. The New Forest is actually quite close to Bournemouth, a large beach town that many Jews visit (especially during the summer,) so consider finding out what time minyanim are and what your kosher food options are over there.

THE GREAT LAKES: The Great Lakes are a chain of beautiful lakes in the middle of England. They are beautiful and have stunning scenery to soak up.

BRECON BEACON: Brecon Beacons National Park is a stunning hike through gorgeous landscapes. You will be treated to lots of sheep literally on the same path as you are hiking.

NORTHERN LONDON: The Tottenham Reservoir, which offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are walking trails around the beautiful waters with narrow boats. The scene is quaint and creates a picturesque setting that is really as peaceful as it is enchanting. Just nearby is Stamford Hill, which is a very vibrant community, and you have a variety of kosher dining options.

SEVEN SISTER CLIFFS: These majestic chalk cliffs on the Sussex coast offer stunning views of the English Channel.. Kids can enjoy safe and scenic hikes along well-maintained trails, and explore the pebble beach at Cuckmere Haven.

WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER: These cliffs are a must-visit destination for families exploring England. These stunning chalk cliffs offer an enchanting landscape that will captivate you and your family. there are well-marked trails, where you can all learn about the unique geology of the cliffs and spot coastal wildlife. The breathtaking views of the English Channel and France on the horizon will leave everyone in awe.

CAMDEN AND LITTLE VENICE: Camden and Little Venice are right inside London, and they are not as touristy as central London. Camden is an electric neighborhood where there is a famous Camden market with really cool vibes. Right near Camden is an area called Little Venice. It's charming and picturesque. Here you can go on an awesome boat ride along the tranquil waterways, seeing the narrow boats. You'll be treated by stunning views of tree-lined canals, charming houseboats, and hidden gardens and gorgeous homes. If you take a trip on one of these boats, you'll be treated to some of London's most grand and famous homes and Regent Park, and London Zoo. Camden is more urban, while Little Venice is peaceful.

The first time we drove out of London where we usually visit, we were pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful England is. There are wide-open roads, pretty countrysides, green fields, winding rivers, and quaint villages. During the summer, there are very long daylight hours, so it's even more time for fun.

So, whether you're a seasoned traveler or embarking on your first adventure, England offers something for everyone. With a sense of adventure, and a good supply of kosher food, you can create unforgettable memories and discover the magic that England has to offer. Until next time, happy travels!
