Life is hectic sometimes.
Maybe you just had a baby š¼, youāre newly pregnant 𤰠and completely exhausted, you started a new job š¼, or youāre in the middle of making a wedding š° (mazel tov!). Whatever it is, there are times when you feel like youāre drowning in everything that needs to get done. Sound familiar?
Hereās the thingāyou CANāT do it all.
And guess what? Thatās 100% okay. š§āāļø
The key to survival in these overwhelming seasons is cutting out the unnecessary and simplifying wherever possible. So, letās talk about how to make life easier when everything feels like too much.
š Laundry & Clothing ā The āGood Enoughā Method
ā Stop folding laundryĀ ā Toss clothes straight into drawers or bins. If you declutter enough, you donāt need neat piles!
ā No ironingĀ ā Donāt buy clothes that require ironing. Life is too short for that. š āāļø
ā Simplify kidsā clothingĀ ā Fewer options = fewer decisions = less laundry. Win-win! š
ā Use laundry bagsĀ ā Each kid gets their own mesh bag for socks and small stuffāno more lost things! š§¦
ā Stick to easy-care fabricsĀ ā Machine-washable, wrinkle-free, and stain-resistant fabrics will be your best friends.
š” Housework & Cleaning ā Let It Go!
ā Paper plates when neededĀ ā Yes, itās fine. No guilt. You donāt need to wash 100 dishes every day. š½ļø
ā Minimal meal prepĀ ā Keep it simple: pasta, eggs, sandwiches, crockpot meals. Youāre not a contestant on Kosher dot com. š³
ā One-pot/pan mealsĀ ā I am HUGE on this! Fewer dishes = less cleanup. Genius! š„
ā Let go of āperfectāĀ ā The house wonāt sparkle right now, and thatās perfectly okay. āØ
ā Set a timerĀ ā Do a 10-minute power cleanup and then STOP. No need to go overboard!
š¶ Kids & Parenting ā Survival Mode Tips
ā Pre-packed snacksĀ ā Keep granola bars, fruit, and other grab-and-go options on hand. š
ā Lower the toy loadĀ ā Fewer toys = less mess. Trust me on this.
ā Independent dressingĀ ā If they can dress themselves, let them. Mismatched socks? Who cares! š¤·āāļø
ā Let go of fancy eventsĀ ā A cake from the store + a few balloons = DONE. š
šļø Errands & Shopping ā Work Smarter, Not Harder
ā Grocery delivery or pickupĀ ā If it saves you time, itās worth it. š
ā Stick to the same mealsĀ ā Rotating a few easy meals means no overthinking dinner. š½ļø
ā Buy in bulkĀ ā Fewer grocery runs = more sanity. š
ā Skip fancy outfitsĀ ā Comfy, practical, and repeatable is the way to go. š
š¤ Social & Expectations ā Boundaries Are Your Best Friend
ā Say noĀ ā You donāt have to attend every event. People will understand. š”
ā DelegateĀ ā If someone offers help, say YES. šÆ
ā Forget the extrasĀ ā No one expects homemade challah when life is nuts. š
ā Lower your standardsĀ ā Good enough is good enough right now.
š” This season wonāt last forever, but while youāre in it, make life as easy as possible.Ā Let go of the things that donāt matter and focus on what doesākeeping yourself sane and your family happy. š„°
