30 Easy Things to Declutter from Your Bathroom Right Now

Having a clutter-free bathroom not only makes your morning routine smoother but also creates a refreshing and organized space. In my course and book, "Frum Minimalism", we go through how to declutter all areas in our homes quickly, easily and efficiently, for GOOD- using my awesome 3-step method.

In this blog post, I'll share with you 30 easy things you can get rid of from your bathroom right now.

  1. Obvious Garbage: Start with the basics - get rid of empty bottles, used toiletries, and crumpled tissues that are no longer needed. Dispose of them responsibly to make space for the essentials.

  2. Expired Medications: Check your medicine cabinet and discard any medications that have passed their expiration date. Safely dispose of them according to local guidelines.

  3. Unused Hair Products and Tools: Let go of hair products and tools that you no longer use or need. If you haven't touched them in months, chances are you won't in the future.

  4. Dull Nail Clippers and Scissors: Ditch old and ineffective nail clippers and scissors.

  5. Unused Hotel Samples: We all have them tucked away in drawers or baskets. Let go of those hotel samples that you never use; they only add to the clutter.

  6. Squishy Bath Toys: Remove all squishy bath toys, especially if you have children. They can harbor mold and bacteria, making them unsafe for little ones.

  7. Unused Makeup: Empty your makeup bag and toss out items you never use or those that have become too old. Makeup products do have a shelf life.

  8. Expired Makeup: Discard any makeup that is more than a year old. Remember, products applied close to the eyes have an even shorter lifespan.

  9. Unopened Toiletries: If you have new toiletries that you still haven't used, consider either using them or giving them away to friends or family.

  10. Old Toothbrushes: Replace your toothbrush every few months, and don't forget to get rid of the old ones cluttering your bathroom space.

  11. Extra Towels: Keep only the necessary towels you regularly use and donate or recycle the extras.

  12. Unused Costume Jewelry: Get rid of any costume jewelry that you don't use or love.

  13. Unpleasant Smelling Lotions: Toss lotions and products with scents that you don't enjoy, you wont magically start liking the scent tomorrow.

  14. Unnecessary Decor: Assess the decor in your bathroom and remove any items that add to the clutter or no longer serve a purpose.

  15. Extra Makeup Bags: You don't need an excessive number of makeup bags, so keep your favorites and donate the extras.

  16. Unused Nail Polish: Discard nail polish colors you no longer use or love, and those that have become clumpy and unusable.

  17. Extra Hairbrushes: Keep only your favorite hairbrush and take better care of it.

  18. Old or Unused Washcloths and Loofahs: Replace washcloths, sponges, and loofahs that are over a couple of months old or those that you no longer use.

  19. Unused Hair Product Attachments: Get rid of attachments for hair products that you know you'll never use or have never used before.

  20. Outdated Glasses and Contact Lenses: Dispose of old glasses and contact lenses with the wrong prescription.

  21. Expired Perfumes: Perfumes lose their scent over time, so don't hesitate to use your favorite scents rather than letting them collect dust.

  22. Packaging: Recycle or discard all packaging from toiletries and other products to keep your bathroom tidy.

  23. Shower Mats: Consider if you really need a shower mat; removing it can make cleaning easier.

  24. Bathroom Floor Mats: Keep only one or two bathroom floor mats, depending on your bathroom's size, and donate the rest.

  25. Unused Perfume Samples: Let go of perfume samples you collected but never use. They can quickly accumulate and add to the clutter.

  26. Empty or Almost Empty Bottles: Check shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion bottles for remnants. Consolidate or discard almost empty containers to free up space.

  27. Unnecessary Travel Toiletry Bags: If you have an abundance of travel toiletry bags, keep only a couple and donate the rest.

  28. Unused or Old Hair Accessories: Hairbands, clips, and hair ties tend to accumulate over time. Keep only the ones you frequently use and let go of the rest..

  29. Expired Sunscreen: Check the expiration dates on your sunscreen bottles and discard any that are no longer effective.

  30. Empty or Old First Aid Supplies: Review your first aid kit and get rid of any expired medications or supplies to ensure your safety in emergencies.

Decluttering your bathroom doesn't have to be a daunting task. By eliminating these additional items, you'll have a more organized, visually appealing, and enjoyable bathroom space. Regularly reviewing and decluttering your bathroom will help maintain a clutter-free environment and make your daily routines more pleasant.
