Embracing minimalism with a large family may seem like a daunting task, but the benefits of a clutter-free and simplified life can greatly outweigh the challenges.

In fact, I've successfully guided a woman with 16 (!!!) children in streamlining her apartment, demonstrating that simplicity is attainable for every family.

Create Designated Spaces: If, for instance, there's a member who isn't quite into the organizing or minimalism thing —that's perfectly okay. In my experience with clients, I often encounter clients' husbands and (mostly teenage) children less enthused about decluttering. No worries! Just give them a designated area for their stuff that is within reason for both of you.
Prioritize Functionality: Focus on functionality when decluttering. Consider the purpose of each item and whether it adds value to your family's daily life. Streamlining your possessions based on functionality can lead to a more efficient and purposeful home.
Establish Daily Routines: Develop daily routines that support minimalism. Encourage your family to adopt habits like cleaning up after themselves, putting things back in their designated places, and participating in a quick daily speed cleaning session (a life-changing concept I write about and teach about). Consistency is key to maintaining a clutter-free environment.
Embrace Multi-Functional Furniture: In a large family, space is often a premium. Opt for multi-functional furniture that serves multiple purposes. This not only saves space but also reduces the need for excessive furnishings.
Find Joy in Simplicity: Ultimately, the goal of embracing minimalism with a large family is to find joy in simplicity. Create a home that supports your family's well-being, fosters positive relationships, and allows space for what truly matters.
