This dish is inspired by a restaurant, in a quaint area in Jerusalem. The Chinese chef stands behind a large glass partition, and everyone there can see him putting together orders on his wok. The large flames and the delicious aromas make for a very exciting scene. My children love watching the chef in action, and I enjoy seeing how he creates so many different variations of a very basic dish, tailored to each person's preferences.
Here is our favorite version of the dish. You can use a frying pan if you don’t have a wok (like the Minimalist I am, I don’t have a wok, and it comes out just fine without one).
This recipe relies heavily on individual tastes and preferences. So, go ahead and add whatever you're in the mood for. I didn't provide precise measurements because, much like observing the Chinese chef, there really aren't any.
