This dish is incredibly fast to prepare, packed with flavor, and perfect for busy moms. It takes just 10 minutes, uses one pan, and can be served over rice noodles, rice, and with a salad. Plus, we're adding a special spice: Hawaiig, which brings a delicious yellow hue and unique flavor.
Ingredients:
1 onion, diced
6-8 cloves of garlic, minced
6-8 Portobello mushrooms, sliced
1 lb ground beef
2-3 tbsp sweet soy sauce or teriyaki sauce (your preference)
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Hawaiig spice (adds a lovely yellow color and flavor)
Rice noodles (or rice) for serving
Instructions:
Sauté onions and garlic: In a large pan, heat some oil and fry the diced onions until they become translucent. Add in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
Add the mushrooms: Toss in the sliced Portobello mushrooms and cook until they soften.
Cook the meat: Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it up as it cooks. Mix in your sweet soy sauce or teriyaki sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and Hawaiig spice. Stir everything together until the meat is fully cooked and coated in the flavorful sauce.
Prepare the noodles: While the meat is cooking, bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the rice noodles for about 3 minutes (they cook super fast!). Once they’re done, drain the noodles and, using kitchen scissors, chop them into bite-sized pieces for easy eating.
Serve and enjoy: Serve the dish over the rice noodles or rice, or an added kick, drizzle Sriracha, and pair with a side salad for a complete, easy meal. It's delicious, quick, and only requires one pan—perfect for busy nights!
